June 5 is World Environment Day and this year we are being encouraged to Beat Plastic Pollution.

Did you know?

  • It is predicted there will be more plastic in the ocean than fish in 2050
  • Only 10% of the plastic we produce is recycled
  • Plastic was created for durability and because of that, it doesn't break down

How can we help?

  • Say no to single use plastic - think bags, straws, cutlery and any other single use items
  • Call out shops or businesses using plastic unnecessarily and likewise, praise those who are making change for the better!  
  • If you do use plastic, can it be recycled correctly or can it be reused again (and again?)
